KidTales is designed for use by parents and guardians on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All account creation, story configuration, and data management is performed by the parent/guardian account holder.

Child profile information (first name, age, interests) is provided by the parent and used solely to personalize story content. This information is stored securely and is never shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

• Account information (email address, name) via our authentication provider, Clerk
• Child profiles (first name, age, interests) for story personalization

• Subscription and billing information via Clerk Billing

• Manage your account and subscription
• Deliver podcast feeds to your chosen podcast application

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Story audio files are stored on Cloudflare R2 with time-limited signed URLs. We use Convex for our database backend, which provides encrypted data storage and secure access controls.

• Clerk— authentication and billing
• Convex— database and backend infrastructure
• Cloudflare R2— audio file storage
• OpenAI— story generation
• Google— text-to-speech narration

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. Parents may review and delete their child's profile information through the account dashboard.
